When working on our Restructuring projects, you will understand, advise and assist our clients experiencing restructuring and insolvency situations to make the right decisions to maximise potential outcomes.
On Advisory projects, you will focus on helping organisations navigate the challenging and complex landscape of business decisions to identify the best path forward, mitigate risk, manage change and drive growth.

Summer Vacation Program
Graduate Program
Our Summer Vacation Program will provide you with real world commercial experience across a variety of different projects and industries. The program runs for either four weeks (commencing in November or January), or eight weeks (commencing in November).
The program commences with a two-day national induction intensive in our Sydney office where you will have the opportunity to meet and learn from a range of McGrathNicol experts through structured sessions, networking and social events. During your time with us, we aim to give you as much exposure as possible to each of our service offerings. You will have a Buddy, Time Manager, Counselling Manager and Counselling Partner responsible for providing you with a variety of interesting work, as a well as personalised support and guidance throughout your placement.
High performing Vacationers may be offered a permanent full-time Graduate position.

Which program am I eligible to apply for?
You will be eligible for our Summer Vacation Program in your penultimate year of study. Our Graduate Program is open to students in their final year, or those who have recently graduated (typically within two years of the program start date).
Our Restructuring & Advisory program is open to business or commerce students majoring in Accounting, Economics or Finance.
Our Cyber program is open to students completing a STEM or IT related degree, with an interest in Digital Forensics, Cyber Security and eDiscovery.
Our Data Analytics program is open to students completing a STEM degree, with a related degree or major in Data Science/Analytics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or Actuarial Science.
Our Government Advisory program is open to students completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with an interest in specialised Advisory.
Do you accept applications from international students?
Our Summer Vacation and Graduate Programs are not open to international students. You must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or Australian Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application.
To be eligible for a role in our Canberra office, you must be an Australian Citizen.
What is the recruitment process?

This is the final stage of our recruitment process. The interview component will generally be with a Partner and senior team member. Depending on your location, this may involve a group information session where you will have the opportunity to network with some of our Partners and team, and learn more about the firm and the work that we do.Feedback or offer

What support do you offer to Graduates completing the Chartered Accountants (CA) Program?
We offer full financial and study support for our Graduates, including:
All module fees (including bridging courses) and textbooks;
Access to comprehensive study notes and guides;
Attendance at lectures and tutorials, including mock exam days to assist in your preparation;
Paid study and exam leave (equating to 25 days over the course of the program);
National study groups as you progress through the program alongside your cohort;
A dedicated McGrathNicol CA mentor to support you throughout your studies;
Rewards to recognise milestone achievements and completion of the program; and
Ongoing annual CA membership fees.
I didn’t study accounting at University. Will I be eligible to complete the CA Program?
If your degree does not cover the prerequisite subjects necessary to enrol in the CA program, you may be required to complete a bridging course. For more information, please visit the CA ANZ website. Financial and study support are provided to Graduates who need to complete bridging courses.
